Hello, I'm Markos.
Anthropologist by training, working in software.
I'm Markos, an anthropologist working in software.
Anthropology taught me to pay attention before reaching for an answer. I learned to notice the informal work that keeps a formal process running, the reason behind a workaround, and the different realities that can sit inside the same system.
Software is where that habit turns useful. I use research, product thinking and a lot of making to help teams understand messy situations and build things that fit the lives around them.
This site holds finished work next to half-formed observations, references I keep coming back to, and small experiments. The line between them is blurry on purpose.
How I tend to work
- Stay close to practice
- People rarely do what the process diagram says. I'd rather learn what they actually do.
- Make complexity shareable
- A good map lets a team argue about the same thing.
- Build to learn
- A prototype is a question with edges.
- Care for what comes after
- Maintenance, handover and side effects are part of the design, not a clean-up job for later.
